Portfolio
Here are some examples of recently completed work.
This Website
Since your on the website now it is a good place to start. If you have Javascript enabled you will have noticed a few effects which aren't commonly seen.
Did you notice how the page moves horizontally when you click the menu options rather than loading a new page? This site consists of just a single page. The text on each page is already set at the right colour but the logo changes dynamically when a menu option is selected.
To create these effects I am using Javascript and utilising functionality in the JQuery Framework. If you have Javascript disabled the site still works perfectly fine just without these added effects.
RSS Generator (Windows Application)
This is a very simple Desktop Application which takes a text file list of links and places them into a predefined RSS format for use on another web service.
A good example of how custom software doesn't need to be big, complicated and expensive. This is a days work and allows something which would be impractical to do manually.
Secure Digital Delivery (eCommerce)
With the ever growing sector of online shopping is an equally growing number of fraudsters and thieves. My client supplies gaming codes which due to the digital nature of the product (immediate delivery by email) and high demand are very high up on the targets for fraud.
For this client I added intelligence based on their experience to the checkout process to limit the automatic delivery to specific lower risk countries (using IP Location) and limited transaction value greatly reducing the number of fraudulent transactions attempted on the site.
Invoice Generator (Excel VBA Macro)
A simple form created using the Microsoft Excel VBA Developer allows easy copy/paste of a delivery address into a predefined invoice template.
The template is setup in the company design and the address information is located in the correct position for use with integrated labels.
Maintenance Management (Database)
This is an ongoing development of mine. It consists of many hardware storage devices and a software database to provide asset tracking and maintenance management functions.
The system is tailored towards industrial/military high value assets such as machinery, vehicles and complex electronic systems.
Please contact me for further information.
JQuery Card Game (Web Application)
This was created as a proof of concept to see if Javascript could realistically deal and pack of cards and give the same level of gameplay as a Flash application. THis again makes extensive use of the JQuery Framework.
Check back soon to try it for yourself.
